UVMC

  • All UVMC Continuing Education courses are individually approved by various professional organizations. Check each course description for specific approvals. Contact hour certificates will be awarded for successful completion of the individual programs. Successful completion is defined as attendance of entire program and submission of a completed evaluation form at the conclusion of the program. Individual courses may also have additional requirements for successful completion, which will be made known prior to the start of the program. Late arrivals and early departures may forfeit official continuing education certificates.
  • UVMC is authorized as an approver and provider of continuing education in nursing by the Ohio Board of Nursing (OBN-005-92). As such, UVMC may approve continuing education programs submitted by agencies within Ohio, as well as from other states.

Critical Thinking Series

  • Upper Valley Medical Center offers a 10-session Critical Thinking Series. Participants may enroll at any time during the year. The critical thinking series is geared to entry-level critical care nurses and/or advanced medical-surgical nurses who desire to learn more about critical care concepts. The * symbol indicates component classes of the series. Classes may be taken individually or as a part of the whole course; the entire critical thinking series consists of 7 class topics, the basic cardiology course and a final test.
